- As most of you who read this know, I went to the philippines to attend my grandfather’s funeral. Everyone made the trip to attend the funeral so it was like a reunion. I hardly get to see most of them because we are all in different parts of the world. I enjoyed spending time with my cousins. There are now 18 of us and i dont get to see any of them on a regular basis and they are all growing up so fast. I am the oldest one at 21 while the youngest is 2. Everyone is getting old and I am hoping to see them more often. Anyway, here is a lil something I wrote on the day of my grandpa’s funeral…
- My grandpa’s death was my first encounter with losing a loved one. The funeral was probably the saddest thing I have experienced. Everyone was crying in tears especially after the eulogy given by my uncle. My grandma probably never stopped crying at the whole funeral. I cannot even imagine how sad she feels. She just lost the love of her life for over 50 years. My grandpa had been blind for the last few years of his life so my grandma would always be there with him. They were together with pretty much everything they did. There wasn’t a time in which they were apart. So it will be very hard for my grandma to accept the fact that my grandpa is gone. It will take a lot of time. I think it helped that everyone made the trip to the funeral to be there for her. I hope that grandpa takes care of her and will always look out for her and i hope my grandma finds a way to live happily the rest of her life. I miss my grandpa and I wish I could have visited him before he passed away..
- After this experience, I learned that life is too short to not live it to its fullest. We never know what will happen tomorrow so we should try and do everything today. We cant be afraid of the many risks involved in living. We shouldn’t be afraid to take chances in life because without risks, you will not have a chance to succeed or achieve anything in your life. Without living life to its fullest, you will also not achieve the highest level of happiness in which I think we all deserve a chance to experience. We should also love all because there is no time for enemies. Life is too short for that and we should cherish this wonderful gift given to us called life. We should cherish the life we have right now because we will never know when our time will be up so live life to its fullest and live, love and laugh..
